Honestly, a good woman is hard to find. An old maxim so old yet still true today. Anyway, for those searching – don’t lose hope, there are some wonderful ladies affiliated with ‘Relationships Do Matter’ online (FB group) but I digress. Anyway gentlemen, here are valuable tips guaranteed to be useful in your soul mate search.
Why search or bother looking?
Simply, because he who finds a good spouse, finds a good life— and even more: the favor of God!
(Proverbs 18:22 MSG)
Key Attributes of a good wife-
#1: Trustworthy
Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
#2: Hardworking
She finds wool and flax and busily spins it.
#3: Entrepreneurial
She is like a merchant’s ship,
bringing her food from afar.
#4: Early Riser
She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.
#5: Investment/Financial Savvy
She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She is energetic and strong,
a hard worker.
She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night.
#6: Diverse
Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber.
#7: Generous
She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.
#8: Fearless and Aware (Pro-Active)
She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm clothes. She makes her own bedspreads.
#9: Fashionista
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
#10: Connected
Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders.
#11: Opportunistic (Business Acumen)
She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.
#12: Strong, Confident & Funny
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
#13: Wise
When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
#14: Observant
She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.
#15: Praiseworthy
Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”
Culled from the tips by a popular King Solomon in the book of Proverbs. (Proverbs 31:10-31 NLT)

True!!!
Indeed.
I love it! Now, that’s the picture of a truly great woman!
Except- I honestly don’t reeaally know that ‘she’ still exists in this present day. Maybe a sign of the times?
But lately whenever I read this passage, I end up returning to the first part of verse 10. I sometimes wonder if the question was meant to be rhetorical.
A great woman and example indeed. They exist, they do exist the onus is on the ‘seeker’.
Nah! It’s no rhetoric… Or is Proverbs 20:6b a rhetoric too…? In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… and the Word was made flesh… (John 1:1,14). The Word (Christ) is our standard, and we just must needs get on with abiding therein more and more. The reflection thereof will invariably take care of itself; after all it is He at work in us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure (Phil 2:13). So in summary, faithful men and virtuous woman actually still abound, they just don’t know it or believe it enough to show it and live it, me thinks.
Absolutely. This is a challenge to folks to rise to a higher level. It is absolutely not rhetorical, I agree.
Thanks Funke.
